When the Post Doesn’t Go as Planned
For most of our readers, you have often heard us reference Acts 17:10-11, “Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”
This is so that we can encourage our readers to not only compare our words to scripture, but also those of their pastor, friends, and anyone that they would take counsel from. The reason for this is that satan loves to twist scripture, and unless we are spending time in God’s word and can know the scriptures, we can easily be misled. Now, I am not writing this post to inform that individuals who staff at Mill House Ministries have been misled by others. Instead, I am writing this to give our readers a little behind the scenes for what we do here.
Over the last couple of months, we have been going through the books of 1 Thessalonians and 2 Thessalonians. Today was supposed to be a post regarding further details on 2 Thessalonians 1. However, one of the references that has been used when writing this series brings up a claim that, as of right now, I am unable to verify. And so, I am having to take a page from Acts 17 and do more research into the claims before I share them with you.
This does not mean that I necessarily think that the reference is wrong, but it would be foolish of me to share information without checking it myself. Every believer needs to be taking outside resources back to scripture in order to make sure that it is accurate.
I am excited to see what I learn through this process and excited to bring it to you!
Seek the truth and encourage one another,
Alex
