Orders Received

Whenever times are hard, I'm reminded of a scene from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. In the scene, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli encourage one another, recommit to the cause, and venture out to save their friends Merry and Pippin from the evil Orcs. It has always stood out as a moment of triumph in defeat. Now, why am I bringing this up? We at Mill House Ministries want to recommit ourselves to you and encourage you that we will not go quietly into the night, and that we will venture forth telling all who will listen of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our orders have not changed, and they have not changed for you either. Our orders are Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age.” Amen.” We are further told the following expanded orders. First, on our conduct within the Church and outwards towards others. This is where we shine! This is where we reveal our faith through our actions, which must be built upon the rock of Jesus Christ. At the foot of the cross, salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone.

Titus 2:1-15 “But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things-- 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 [to be] discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. 6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself [to be] a pattern of good works; in doctrine [showing] integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. 9 [Exhort] bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all [things,] not answering back, 10 not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself [His] own special people, zealous for good works. 15 Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.”

Our second part of the expanded orders is found in Hebrews 10. Here we are mandated to encourage one another and to meet no matter what! Hebrews 10:23-25 “Let us hold fast the confession of [our] hope without wavering, for He who promised [is] faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as [is] the manner of some, but exhorting [one another,] and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

God has given us our orders, and we need to keep our eyes set on Him. With that said, you can expect us to provide posts and answer Bible questions you ask. Remember to share and follow us. God is good; let’s lean on Him and see that He is in control.

Sincerely,

Mill House Ministry Staff
